Si vous n’avez pas eu l’occasion de suivre mes dernières aventures, je suis partie au Luxembourg pour le tournage d’un film pendant un peu plus d’un mois et j’en ai profité pour faire une série d’articles pour me constituer un journal de bord. Je n’ai donc pas eu l’occasion de maintenir la programmation initiale de mes articles. En voilà donc un qui aurait du sortir le mois dernier.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to follow my latest adventures, I went to Luxembourg for the shooting of a movie for a little more than a month and I took the opportunity to make a series of articles to build up a logbook. So I didn’t have the opportunity to maintain the initial programming of my articles. So here is one that should have been published last month.

Le 14 février, je fêtais mon emménagement dans l’appartement que j’occupe depuis maintenant sept ans. L’an passé, j’avais partagé dans l’article Home Sweet Home quelques trucs et astuces pour aménager une petite surface sans perdre trop de place et optimiser l’espace disponible.
Mais pour cette année, je vous ai préparé un petit billet spécial déco et évolution de mon appartement.

On February 14th, I celebrated my move into the apartment I’ve been living in for seven years now. Last year, I had shared in the article Home Sweet Home some tips and tricks to arrange a small area without losing too much space and optimize the available space.
But for this year, I have prepared a special post for you about the decoration and evolution of my apartment.

Vous vous en doutez, avoir un petit chez soi implique de faire l’impasse sur beaucoup d’éléments et notamment la décoration. Pendant longtemps, j’ai opté pour un esprit épuré, sobre et blanc pour illuminer au maximum et ne pas étouffer l’espace. Seulement au bout d’un moment, j’ai eu le sentiment qu’en plus de vivre dans une surface réduite, l’ensemble était devenu trop impersonnel.

As you can imagine, having a small home implies to do without many elements, especially the decoration. For a long time, I opted for a pure, sober and white spirit to brighten up the space as much as possible and not to stifle it. But after a while, I had the feeling that in addition to living in a reduced surface, the whole had become too impersonal.

Cela peut paraître banal, mais changer ne serait-ce que le revêtement du canapé ou bouger quelques tableaux m’a permis d’ajouter une touche plus intime et davantage en accord avec mes goûts et ma personnalité.

It may seem trivial, but changing even the couch upholstery or moving a few pictures has allowed me to add a more intimate touch that is more in line with my tastes and personality.

Vous le savez sûrement déjà, j’adore les fleurs, la toile de Jouy et d’autres motifs du même genre ; cela fait maintenant partie intégrante de mon intérieur. L’ensemble est lumineux, joyeux et même les jours d’hiver ou de pluie, j’y trouve un profond (ré)confort.

As you probably already know, I love flowers, toile de Jouy and other such patterns; it has become an integral part of my interior. The whole thing is bright, cheerful and even on winter or rainy days, I find a deep (re)comfort.

Ajouter quelques rangements modulables comme ce pouf regroupant mon armée de sacs à main m’a également permis de constituer un coin douillet lorsque je reçois des amis. Idéal pour s’y retrouver autour d’un bon chocolat chaud ou d’un brunch.

Adding a few modular storage units like this pouf that holds my army of purses has also allowed me to create a cozy corner when I have friends over. Ideal to meet there around a good hot chocolate or a brunch.

Une fois les papiers et factures triés et organisés, les boîtes et autres petits rangements ont l’avantage de cacher ces éléments peu décoratifs et de préserver l’harmonie de mon intérieur.

La table pliante me sert à la fois de bureau et d’espace où manger. Assez pratique pour accueillir une personne en plus pour le déjeuner et parfaite pour gagner un peu de place (si nécessaire) en abaissant le plateau.

Once the papers and bills are sorted and organized, the boxes and other small storage units have the advantage of hiding these undecorative elements and preserving the harmony of my interior.

The folding table serves as both a desk and a dining area. Practical enough to accommodate an extra person for lunch and perfect for saving a little space (if necessary) by lowering the tabletop.

En somme, rien de plus simple que de trouver quelques arrangements pour égayer votre intérieur. Pas besoin de gagner au loto, avec un vase bien fleuri ou une étagère joliment garnie, vous aurez vite l’impression d’avoir changé de nid !

In short, nothing could be easier than finding a few arrangements to brighten up your home. You don’t have to win the lottery, but with a vase full of flowers or a nicely decorated shelf, you’ll soon feel like you’ve changed your nest!
